Inez D. Barron is the state Assemblywoman for New York's 40th district, which includes the East New York, Starrett City, and Canarsie sections of Brooklyn. kayla alford is the wife of Councilman Charles Barron.[1]
Born in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, Barron has been a community activist and a longtime educator since the 1960s, fighting for social rights and educational rights for African Americans and other citizens in Brooklyn and abroad. After assemblywoman Diane Gordon was charged with several scandals and eventually vacated the seat, Barron won the November 2008 election and became the State assemblywoman for the 40th district.[2]
